How to Report "Facebook Fakers"

Do you ever get a Friend Request from someone you're already friends with on Facebook?  I do!  Here's what I do every time I get one of them.

NOTE: These instructions are for those who access Facebook using a Desktop or Laptop computer.  For general instructions on how to report someone who sent you a fake account requestion, here's the link from Facebook that works regardless of what type device you're using:

I received a Friend Request from Charles.  I'm already friends with Charles.  Here are both of them which shows the one I'm already friends with at the top and the one who sent me a friend request at the bottom.

To report this person click the name of the fake person who sent you a friend request.

This took me to the FAKE "Charles" Facebook page.  I could tell this was the one I wantet.  At the top of the page it asked if I wanted to "Confirm" the friend request or "Delete" it.

This is where I needed to be to report this person.   Notice the links at the bottom of their profile photo.
One says "Respond to Friend Request."   The other says "Message" followed by three horizontal dots.   Click the three dots "..."

Sometimes people create new Facebook accounts without deleting their old ones.
However, there are a couple of ways I could tell this was a Fake account.
First of all, when I scrolled down, the page was clearly created recently because there was almost no history.

This one was a dead giveaway because of the foreign language posts but they're not all that simple.
One thing that was pretty simple with this one was the date of birth.  My friend Charles is about my age.
We're a lot older than 25,  Hahaha.

If you're in doubt, look for other obviously false information.

One clear dead giveaway that this was a fake account is there was no information given when I clicked "About."

I was sure this was a fake account so I clicked the 3 dots mentioned above.

When I did, it asked if I wanted to "Block" or "Find support or report profile."

I clicked the top option to "report profile."

The next screen asked if I wanted to report if this was a Fake Account, Fake Name, etc.

The type Fake profiles I get most often are people who are pretending to be a friend so I clicked
   "Pretending to Be Someone."

Below, it asks "Who are they pretending to be"
This is where you can report someone pretending to be you (if someone tells you they got an new friend request from you).

In my case, I wanted to report someone pretending to be my friend Charles so I clicked "A Friend."
Then I clicked "Next."

Facebook wants to know "Which Friend?"   So I used the box to begin typing my friend Charles' last name.
As I began typing, Facebook displayed a list of possible friends.  I only had to type the first 4 letters of his surname before it found him.

I clicked the circle to the right of his name.  It turned blue.  I then clicked "Next."

Last, Facebook confirms my selections by displaying a screen that said "You selected 'Pretending to Be Someone' and "A Friend.'
At the bottom, I clicked "Done."

That's it!  Facebook takes it from there.  You could also let your friend know that you reported it.
Feel free to share these instructions with anyone you wish so they'll know how to report a fake Facebook account.
